#transformationtuesday? Weeeelllll kinda. The picture on the right is posed af. The picture on the left was taken literally 30 seconds before the one on the right with poor posture and shorts lower on my waist. You might think one looks better than the other, but in reality, they’re both me, and I’ve learned to love both. As a former athlete, I’ve always had to train for performance and power, rather than what feels right for me. Did I️ dislike my time as an athlete? Hell no. I️ was strong and powerful and it felt damn good. But as my time as a dual-sport D1 athlete came to a close, my body felt EVERYTHING I️ had put it through physically for the previous 10 years of my life. I️ knew I️ had to take a step back and listen to my body. Six months later, and I’m training much differently than I️ used to. I️ get to decide what I️ do for every workout and loooove getting to see not just the physical progress, but the mental gains as well. I️ used to look in the mirror and hate what I️ saw (a problem I️ know a lot of others can relate to), compare myself to others, and obsess over nutrition, but after making some changes and realizing that I️ was doing what was best for my health, there was a mental shift and I️ started to love my body for all it allowed me to do. . So my point is: don’t be so hard on yourself, love your body for what it’s capable of, LISTEN to your body (actually can’t stress this enough), and don’t compare yourself to others (ESPECIALLY what you see on the internet/instagram). Everyone is different and there’s so much to love about each and every person and that’s what makes us special!!

Here is a 30-second transformation for #transformationtuesday! It's easy to look at pictures of other women on Instagram or really anywhere else and compare yourself to them. But I wanted to post this picture for a little perspective. These pictures were taken seconds apart. A lot of pictures on Instagram, including a lot of my own are posed, in good lighting, getting the best angle. It's still me, but I don't walk around in the best light, at the best angle, posing and flexing every second (although that would be fantastic 😂). So take a good look at the picture on the right, thats me relaxed without the flattering tummy control of my high-rise leggings. The person on the right still works out almost everyday and eats healthy at least 75% of the time. She is also still 100% beautiful and strong. Next time you catch yourself unposed, in bad lighting, etc. don't be hard on yourself because your body is still so amazing and does so many amazing things for you if you let it. And when you see posed pictures know that the people in them are perfectly imperfect too. 💕

The POWER OF POSING!! * Differences I see between posed vs relaxed: 1) booty more defined 2) quads are POPPIN 3) waist is half the size 4) actually have some delt definition * And yeah, I’m not gonna lie, I prefer how I look in the second photo. BUT THAT’S NOT ACTUALLY ME! I can’t stay in that pose for more than 30secs because it’s not natural and it’s not how my body is supposed look. So, just as it’s not fair for me to compare my everyday, relaxed body to the posed version, it’s not fair for you to compare yours to ANYBODY on instagram’s posed version. Before and after photos, fitness instagrams, models and even your friends will ALL be posing. We just don’t walk around in everyday life with our back arched, tummy sucked in, and waist twisted, so don’t feel bad for not looking like the photos where people are doing that. * Focus on yourself. Focus on your own improvements, yes appearance wise if you want, but also your strength, endurance, energy levels, quality of sleep. There’s so much more to being healthy than looking like the right hand picture 💕

Posture 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 so 👏🏼 important! - But also not everything. I really try to have good posture because it’s so much better for your body, but at the same time, I’m not worried about being perfectly posed and having perfect posture all of the time. When I sit I have rolls, most people do, it’s all good. EMBRACE THEM. And more importantly, make yourself aware that most of what people post on social media is posed with good posture and good angles. There is nothing wrong with wanting to capture our “best” version of ourselves, but we all have some bumps, rolls, wrinkles, etc. You don’t have to show them off to everyone, (unless you want to, then you should) but learning to be okay with “imperfections” is empowering and in my own experience leads to much happiness. 💕

Just a friendly reminder not to compare yourself to the posed/flexed photos you see on Instagram 💕 . Don’t get me wrong... my booty looks POPPIN’ in the photo on the left (special shoutout to the @balanceathletica glute contour) BUT, I sure as hell don’t look like this all the time! In fact, the photo on the right is a MUCH more accurate depiction of what I look like on a daily basis! . I am all for wanting to share the best version of yourself online, so if posing a certain way makes YOU feel good about yourself, GO FOR IT... . At the same time, I also believe it is equally (if not more) important to peel back the curtain from time to time & showcase our non posed / non edited selves bc social media can easily distort reality + promote perfectionism🙏🏼 . Nobody is perfect, but that’s what makes us who we are! Own it. Embrace it. YOU are enough, always🤘🏼

✨this is NOT a weight loss post✨ Anyone who knew me in highschool knows I was effortlessly very skinny. That's not so much the case anymore. I've been struggling a lot with my body image lately, and I just want to remind anyone who might be feeling the same not to believe everything they see on social media or even in the mirror. These pictures were taken about 10 seconds apart, one with my tummy sucked in, and one slouched and letting it hang out. My normal tummy is somewhere in the middle. This is also before I've eaten a real meal today. Every time I look in the mirror, I see one of these two versions of my tummy rather than seeing it for what it is: the part of my body that fuels the rest of my body. . As I've started eating healthier and becoming more active, I've started wondering why I'm not losing weight and whether I'm doing something wrong. As much as I'd love to wake up and fit in my old jeans tomorrow, I know that losing weight quickly by depriving myself of foods I love and exercising past my limits is not healthy. I realized that if my body wants to lose weight, it will do that slowly and gradually as my habits change. If my body doesn't want to lose weight, it won't and I will feel happier, stronger, and more energized from the healthier choices I've been making. I'm learning to love my tummy, and I'm hoping you can too, if you're reading this. . #30secondtransformation #bodypositive #healthateverysize #healthnotdiets

30 second transformation Tuesday. Pic 1- REAL. slouched and completely relaxed. Pic 2- FAKE. legs further apart, leaning forward, thighs rotated and arm lifted to lift and slim torso. Don’t compare your day to day with someone’s highlight reel. The pictures with rolls, stretch marks and double chins get photoshopped or deleted for a repose. Do you boo, and love it. ❤️ #postpartumbody #postpartumjourney #momoftwo #highlightreel #momlife #myjourney #babybelly #mombod #reallife #brokenbellybutton #normalizenormalbodies #transformation #transformationtuesday #30secondtransformation #thighgap #thickthighs #thickthighssavelives

Happy Thursday beauties! Raise yo hands for belly rolls 🙌🏽🙌🏽 (woo woo! -Amy Poehler in “Baby Mama”) This is your friendly reminder to be kind to yourself! Took these 30 seconds apart. I miss posting these #perfectlyimperfect photos and reminding myself that WE ARE ALL HUMAN and no one is perfect. Listen, my body has been blessed to carry 3 gorgeous babies.. which means my midsection has expanded beyond belief 3 times (like whale level expansion), a miscarriage, a yucky divorce and countless amount of cleanses/fad diets.. this bod has been through a lot! No matter how put together someone's body or life seems to be, we ALL deal with insecurities, hurdles, failures BUT I will say this 👉🏼 the way we choose to deal with the things in our life that we deem "imperfect" really does make all the difference. You can choose to let things hinder you OR let them fuel you. Love yous xx - #30secondtransformation #beforeandafter #bellyroll #fitmom #fitlatinaboss

Do you have any idea what type of photo editing apps are out there these days?! I don’t 😂... but I DO know that Instagram can be a real highlight reel. Lighting, filters, flexing, angles can all make a HUGE difference. ⁣ ⁣ Do not compare your reality to someone else’s edited photos. Filters are fun! And it is sooo cool to see yourself all swole and cut up - but know that 9/10 times that isn’t what someone looks like just walking around town. ⁣ ⁣ Moral: Instagram photos aren’t always someone’s every day reality. Know that there are filters and tricks out there to make a photo look bomb - and that’s ok! You vs. you. ⁣ ⁣ #youvsyou #highlightreel #intagramvsreality #filter #nofilter #momlife #momswhotrain #sahm #sahmlife #whenthebabynaps #naptime #comparison #30secondtransformation #stopcomparing #comparisonisthethiefofjoy

30 SECOND TRANSFORMATION😱 • So I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the type of “influencer” I want to be.... asking myself, do I want to be the “one with the big ass” that is literally just playing people everyday? Or do I want to be the real one who reassures girls and women that their bodies are BEAUTIFUL and NORMAL and it’s OKAY to eat that pizza that’s going to make you so so happy! INSTAGRAM IS NOT REAL, IT IS FAKE!!! IT IS SO SO FAKE and it gives us all these unrealistic expectations of how to live and look!!!! We put on this front that were like picture perfect at all moments of the day when that’s NOT THE REALITY. • LET ME TELL YOU, I only look like the left photo like 1% of my life... like only when I’m taking photos.... I look like the photo on the right 98% of the time, I have awful posture, I am a binge junk food eater, i get SO bloated, I have the ugliest laugh/cry, I get insecure looking at other girls on Instagram, sometimes I think about getting lip injections and fake boobs bc maybe I’ll look better in a swimsuit, maybe some clothes will fit better, or maybe I’ll be happier... more confident... but WHY, WHY do we feel this way??? WE NEED TO STOP COMPARING... because we are literally comparing ourselves to an edited, fake, version of some girl out there.... love the body you are in, cherish it, feed it with foods you love, and use it to do the things you love!!! • LADIES, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOUR BODY IS PERFECT, YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE YOURSELF TO LOOK LIKE SOMEONE ELSE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE “SKINNIER” YOU DO NOT NEED TO “GAIN SOME WEIGHT” FUCK ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU DIFFERENT!!! • No one else is you, no one else can be you, and that is your power. • I promise to be more real on here and remind you constantly that your body is normal and beautiful and that it’s okay to have small or big boobs and it’s okay to be bloated and it’s normal and okay to have bad “not Instagram worthy” days. • I LOVE YOU ALL! I hope that this made sense because I tend to ramble, but the point is, be confident in the body you have, do what makes you happy, let’s normalize real bodies❤️ • @tlfapparel size x-small Code TLF-NELLIE takelifefurther #tlf

Reality check, on the left me 99% of the time, and me 1% of the time- these photos were taken approximately 23seconds apart. Everyone has belly rolls, gets a food baby after a massive dinner and gets envious about their idol on Instagram, but everyone also can ‘suck their tummy in’, get a good camera angle as well as good lighting for a photo. Social media isn’t, for most, about their lifestyle, it’s always the best, the best moment, the best photo of themselves etc etc So don’t feel bad for not always looking 100% all the time, or that you don’t look like you idol or whatever because they also don’t look that good 100% of the time🤷🏼‍♀️ #30secondtransformation #realitycheck #bloated #foodbaby #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #gymmotivation #gymlifestyle #gymlife

5/22/20 --5:00am -- 145lbs 5/22/20 -- 5:03am -- 145lbs DO NOT BELIVE EVERY THING YOU SEE ON INSTAGRAM. Okay, that's dramatic but I do need you to remember that Instagram, though getting better, is typically a highlight reel. People are posting the 1/100 pictures that are taken because that's is what is acceptable. Fitness professionals, influencers, bloggers, etc post the good shots and the good angles because typically that is what draws people. But that can lead people to compare themselves, degrade themselves and all around fee shitty. If I walked around in my posed position all the time my god damn hips would be dislocated and my back would be broken. People are people. We all have a little extra skin, we all get bloated, we can all push out our stomach, no one is perfect. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. So please, please, please do not compare yourself to the people in your feed. We pick and choose what we share and you are seeing one glimpse into other people's lives. ✨ . . . . . #lifting #weightlifting #bodybuilding #fitnessappeal #powerlifting #gains #deadlifts #lululemon #fitfam #motivation #strong #muscle #gym #gymlife #justdoit #selflove #strongnotskinny #shamelessselfie #love #gainingweightiscool #like #selfienation #transformations #sf #booty #potd #love #bootyday #transformation #30secondtransformation
